Artist"s Studio and The Garden Cottage rest on nearly an acre of lush, rural, tropical landscaping.

The Garden Cottage is a perfect romantic tropical getaway for a couple who is planning a vacation on Kauai. Our cottage was patterned after one of the many birdhouses on the property, hence the name Hale Melemanu, (house of the song bird).

Nearby Forest Reserve lands enhance your privacy, and peace and quiet. You can enjoy watching for rainbows and waterfalls ...when relaxing in the hammock, or strolling through the fragrant tropical gardens or along this quiet country road. Kauai Map showing our location

The Garden Cottage

The bedroom is located upstairs at the top of a beautiful spiral staircase, and has a ceiling fan and a queen bed and fresh robes in the closet. There are beach towels for after a dip in the small exercise pool or beach. And for breakfast in bed, there is a special tray.

Throughout this lovely cottage, you'll find lots of interesting artwork, a supply of popular jazz and classical CD's, a TV/ VCR, and a telephone.

As a compliment to the artwork, the cottage is filled with unique, and comfortable tropical bamboo furniture and Hawaiian decor.

In addition to the well equipped kitchen, there is a charcoal grill on the spacious and private lanai......a perfect place to unwind and enjoy tropical dining.

Artist Studio
You may be tempted to make this 700 sq. ft. one bedroom studio your home- away-from-home. The Artist Studio has an extensive video and CD library, art work, 2 TV/VCR's, cable TV, art supplies, games, a telephone, and lots of good books.  


There is a King Size bed in the bedroom, and there are large walk in closets with terry cloth robes. The bright sun room has a sofa bed perfect for a mid day vacation snooze or as an extra bed for a child.


The full kitchen is colorful and exceptionally well equipped. Additional amenities include: an exercise pool with an entertainment area enclosed by a fence covered with a rare red jade vine.  The lanai overlooks extensive tropical gardens, fruit trees, and a lush, quiet, green Hawaiian mountain range.
